About
Welcome to Turkonomics, the premier student-driven platform for insightful analysis and discussion on politics and economics. Founded by emerging thinkers, we empower students to publish rigorously reviewed articles, multimedia explainers, and opinion pieces, bridging the gap between academic research and real-world impact.
Mission
To provide an accessible, high-quality platform where students and emerging thinkers share verified insights on politics and economics, enriching public understanding through well-researched, thought-provoking content.
Vision
To become a globally recognized hub of informed perspectives, where the next generation of economists and thought leaders shape public discourse, bridging academia and society through free, fearless knowledge-sharing.

How it all started:
-
Turkonomics was born from a simple but powerful idea: what if students had a serious platform to share rigorous, research-based analysis of the world around them, without paywalls, ads, or institutional constraints?
In early 2025, Doruk Ünal founded Turkonomics as a response to a gap he noticed between academic knowledge and everyday political and economic discourse. While classroom theories offered depth, public debate often lacked context and evidence. There was no space that bridged both worlds in a way accessible to young thinkers and the broader public.
What started as a student-led experiment quickly evolved into a dynamic platform. Ünal’s initial call for contributors was answered by peers across Turkey and beyond, volunteers who believed that clear, credible analysis should be free and shared widely. Together, they built not just a website, but a process: editorial standards, a review system, and a collaborative culture grounded in curiosity and rigor.
Since then, Turkonomics has grown into a global collective of student writers, researchers, and enthusiasts. It publishes deep-dives on policy, research briefs, explainers, and multimedia content—all with a commitment to academic clarity and civic relevance. Whether dissecting inflation in Turkey, exploring far-right movements in Europe, or simulating macroeconomic models, the platform remains driven by one core belief:
What you say matters.
